Mini Purse Album $10.00

Mother's Day Mini Purse Album Tutorial

For this project you should have in your kit: 3 envelopes; 2 paper mats for front and back of album; 2 paper mats with notches cut out for inside sides; 1 paper mat, scored in half, for middle of inside; 1 square, scored in half, for purse flap; 2 cardstock mats/tags for inside pockets; one 4x6 photo mat; and 2 3x3 photo mats.

You will also have: 4 pieces of ribbon for pocket tags; 1 piece of ribbon for purse handle; 1 "LOVE" cut out; letters and shadow letters (MOM'S DAY); 12 flower cutouts; 4 rhinestones; velcro dots; 2 "mother" journal tags.

Fold middle envelope (with flap cut off) in half, using bone folder to get a nice fold.

Lay envelopes together, with flaps of two outside envelopes facing in, as shown.

Glue envelope flaps to middle envelope, as shown above.

Glue paper mats to front sides of envelope. You will not be putting any paper on the middle envelope on this side.

Glue paper mats to inside of album. Printed paper with notches on sides, solid cardstock with fold in middle. When gluing side pieces apply the glue to the envelope instead of the paper, and only to the top layer of the envelope, making sure you don't glue the "pockets" shut.

Staple ribbons to photo mat tags. I stapled one set on the top corner, and the other set on the bottom corner of other mat, as shown above.

Take folded square (this will be the purse flap), using an edger or decorative scissors trim the edges on only half of triangle. See picture below.

Cut other half down to 1 inch, glue to outside of back page as shown. Do not glue front triangle/flap down.

Stick velcro dots together before attaching to album. Attach them to underneath of flap at tip, as shown above. Fold flap down and attach to front cover. Pull apart gently to open.

Assemble "MOM'S DAY" lettering, gluing smaller letters on top of shadow letters. Glue letters to bottom of front of album, underneath the "happy" stamp, as shown. Assemble flower as shown, using a rhinestone in middle of flower, attach to flap with pop dot.

On inside of album, assemble left side as shown above, layering photo mats and flowers. Use rhinestones in middle of flowers.

Assemble right side of envelope as shown, again layering photo mats and flowers. Attach "LOVE" cutout underneath photo mats.

If desired, use decorative corner punch for journal tags. Attach to middle envelope inside, as shown above.

Slip photo tags inside side pockets, see above.

Punch eyelets at top corners of front page.

Thread ribbon in eyelets from back to front, tying knot as shown above.
